Daniel Ochoa de Olza is a Spanish photographer based in Mexico, whose work explores the visual languages of identity, ritual, and territory. He is the winner of this year’s Cortona On The Move / BarTur Grant, receiving $30,000 to complete his project The Gap, which documents the 2,000-mile American–Mexican border.

Stanko Abadžić was born in Vukovar, Croatia in 1952. When he was 15, his father gave him his first camera, a Smena 8. He became a member of the Borovo Photo Club, which organized his first joint and solo exhibitions in Vukovar and Borovo. He received his degree in German language and literature.

Brian Byrd is a freelance photographer with more than two decades of experience advancing communication as a catalyst for social change. He serves on the board of directors for the Overseas Press Club of America and the advisory board for WITNESS, a global NGO founded by musician Peter Gabriel that uses video and digital technology to document human rights violations.
